What is Worship Assistant? --------------------------------------------------------------------- Worship Assistant is Windows software to assist the church worship leader in keeping track of worship songs, planning worship services and small group meetings, and managing worship teams. Here is some of what the program can help you do: ** Track information about your worship songs, including lyrics and chords. ** Plan worship services, including songs and participating team members. ** Present song lyrics using a video projector. ** Keep track of your worship team members. ** Transpose songs to different keys. ** Track CCLI usage. ** Print a master song list in one of many formats. ** Print a songbook (lyrics and chords) of all your songs. ** Print lead sheets (lyrics and chords) with guitar chord diagrams. ** Print overheads. ** Print a song sheet (lyrics and chords) or a set list for each worship set. ** Print a list of team members in one of many formats. --------------------------------------------------------------------- 2. Installing Worship Assistant --------------------------------------------------------------------- To install Worship Assistant, simply insert the Worship Assistant CD into your CD-ROM drive. If the installation does not start automatically after a few seconds, select Run from the Start menu, then type D:\setup.exe and click OK (if your CD-ROM drive is not drive D: then replace it with the appropriate drive letter). If you downloaded the evaluation version, simply run the file that you downloaded to install the program. The installation program will prompt you for several pieces of information. If you unsure of what the program is asking for, simply accept the default setting. ** Note: If you are running Windows Vista, Windows XP or Windows 2000, Worship Assistant requires administrative privileges to install. --------------------------------------------------------------------- 3. Upgrading from Previous Versions --------------------------------------------------------------------- ** Version 4.xx can be safely installed on top of version 3.0x or 4.xx. WARNING: If you are upgrading from version 3.00 through version 3.06, this version will upgrade your data files to a new format. It is very important that you do not attempt to open these upgraded data files with a version of the program prior to version 3.07. Data corruption can occur if you attempt to do this. ** If you are currently using version 2 or less, please contact technical support for information on upgrading your data. --------------------------------------------------------------------- 4. What's New in This Version --------------------------------------------------------------------- Version 4.61 (November 3, 2007) =============================== ** Fixed. presentation tried to use default bitmap background even if 'Use Bitmap Background' was not selected. ** Fixed: displaying Find Song dialog during presentation resulted in 'DBISAM Engine' error. ** Fixed: Find Song dialog in presentation appeared behind Presentation Control Panel. ** Fixed: songs added to presentation on the fly did not use the default background bitmap. ** Fixed: dates and times did not print correctly when printing from a Browse window. ** Fixed: help file was still displaying version 4.5 in window caption and cover of printed manual. ** WAOE: Synchronize dialog now uses current theme. ** WAOE: Synchronize dialog now remembers last username used to synchronize. ** WAOE: added additional warnings to Synchronize dialog for unchecked 'Journal Changes' and invalid Station IDs. ** WAOE fixed: changes made to presentation lyrics from Set Manager were not synchronized. Version 4.60 (August 4, 2007) ============================= ** Improved Windows Vista support ** The background bitmap for a song is now displayed in the preview window in the Presentation Control Panel. ** If a background has been assigned to the song, it is now used when previewing the presentation in Song Manager. ** Added menu item to check whether a new version of the program has been released (this check is also done automatically every three days). ** When adding a song to a running presentation, the song list now displays both the Title and Author. ** Fixed order of Keys shown in Key drop-down lists. ** Any filters set in the All Songs list in Set Manager are now saved from session to session. ** Made 'Default Location' button on Open Dataset window more explicit. ** Automatic backups are now stamped with the creation date instead of the software version. ** Removed 'Minimize All' from the Window menu and added an open windows list. Version 4.51 (February 10, 2007) ================================ Fixed: * 'Save Dataset As' often aborted with error message concerning files opened by another process. * Rebuilding data files sometimes aborted with error message concerning files opened by another process. * Printing to PDF did not render with the correct font under certain circumstances. Version 4.50 (January 24, 2007) =============================== Changes: ** Font and other changes to make the program more compatible with Windows Vista. ** Minor updates to user interface 'look and feel'. ** Eliminated some flashing in the preview window on the Presentation Control Panel. ** Added item under View menu for showing and hiding the navigator bar (introduced in v4.40). Fixed: * Song Manager - error message when scrolling to the bottom of the 'All Chords' list. * Browse windows - changes to column ordering or sizes were not persistent. * Merge Songs - merging from the bottom list to the top list resulted in an error message. Version 4.41 (December 2, 2006) =============================== Fixed: * When File was selected as the Report Destination, the OK button was not enabled after selecting a file name. * When changes were made to songs in Song Manager, those changes were not reflected in the All Songs list in Set Manager until the Set Manager window was reopened. * Reordering team members in Set Manager sometimes resulted in unpredictable behavior. * When printing Set Lists, the number of copies setting had no effect. Changes: * In Set Manager, in the All Songs list, the incremental search now works in whatever column is selected for sorting. * It is now possible to remove the new navigator bar (introduced in v4.40) by adding the line 'HideNavigatonBar=1' in the [General] section of the WA.INI file. Version 4.40 (October 15, 2006) =============================== Changes: * A default background bitmap can now be specified for each song. * The Presentation Control Panel is now larger. * A button to toggle 'blanking' the screen has been added to Presentation Control Panel. * Mail servers that require an SSL connection (e.g. GMail) can now be used to send e-mail. * A navigator bar has been added to the main window for easier navigation. * New filter tool (any saved filters must be recreated). * Record filtering can now be done from the manager browse windows. * 'Load All Records' is now enabled by default in manager browse windows. * Fixed: exception errors when multiple monitors is selected but only one monitor exists. Version 4.31 (January 21, 2006) =============================== Changes: ** The option to email report after printing has been moved to the same dialog where the Print Destination (Printer/Preview/File) is selected. Bugs fixed: * Exceptions sometimes occurred when closing the program. * Invalid entries and spaces in the presentation roadmap field could cause the program to crash. Bugs fixed: * When inserting a new song, cannot add chords if song not saved first. * CCLI Report did not always pick up all data within reporting range. * Calculate Usage did not always calculate song count correctly. Version 4.21 (February 28, 2004) ================================ Changes: ** Presentation Control Panel - 'Current Song' display no longer scrolls to top when a different page of the same song is displayed. ** Set Manager - when e-mailing printer output, the 'To' address is now automatically filled with the addresses of team members selected for that set. ** Set Manager - when adding individual team members, the 'Role' column is now automatically filled in. ** Calculate Usage - 'Introduced' and 'Last Used' dates are no longer cleared before task is executed. ** PDF 'Font Encoding' and 'Background Display Type' settings are now being saved in INI file. Bugs fixed: * Export - when selecting the MySQL export, only the structure was exported, not the data. * Chord Manager - various error messages when trying to add a new chord. * Error message regarding missing WADATA.INI file when attempting to open a dataset created by selecting 'Save As' from the menu. * Import - importing more than one CRD file failed. Bugs Fixed: ** Opening splash screen did not show correct registration information. ** Boolean (Yes/No) values exported from Worship Assistant did not import correctly. ** Set Manager - Times Used column did not display values in 'All Songs' list. Bugs Fixed: ** Songsheets/Songbooks - under certain circumstances, the page numbers would scroll indefinitely until the 'Cancel' button was clicked. ** Export - when MySQL and 'Include all tables' were selected, the output was not written to the file specified. Version 4.02 (July 26, 2003) =========================== Changes Made: ** Program will no longer attempt to load a dataset created or updated by a later version of Worship Assistant. Bugs Fixed: * Set Manager: when right-clicking on All Songs list, the option to filter songs by the Active flag didn't work. * Data from version 3.0 didn't always import correctly. Version 4.01 (July 9, 2003) =========================== Changes Made: ** PgUp and PgDn can now be used in presentation where the up and down keys are used now. ** Sort order in All Songs list in Set Manager is no longer case sensitive. ** Added option to backup program settings in addition to data files. ** You can now explicitly indicate from where to take song sheet and songbook lyrics (either the Lyrics/Chords page or the Presentation page in Song Manager). Bugs Fixed: * If second monitor is selected for presentation and the second video card has been removed from the computer, a 'List out of bounds' error is displayed when entering presentation mode. * Keep Together (Page) option on song sheets and songbook didn't always work as expected. * The gap between the title and lyrics on the Lead Sheet was larger than necessary when using a large font for the title. * Previously generated reports were sometimes printed when printing from preview after printing to file. Purchasing Worship Assistant --------------------------------------------------------------------- If you are using the evaluation version of Worship Assistant, the following limitations apply: 1) The program is fully functional for 30 days, with the addition of a reminder screen upon startup. 2) After 30 days, the following features are disabled: * Video presentation * Printing chords on lead sheets * Spell checking * Worship Team Report * CCLI Report 3) After 60 days, all printing is disabled. The cost of purchasing Worship Assistant via Electronic Software Distribution (ESD) is $69 USD. Upon purchase, you will be sent a license key. When this key is entered into the evaluation version of the program, all features are enabled, there is no time limit, and the reminder screen is no longer displayed on program startup.
