Synchronizing Your Data
Previous  Top  Next

If you make changes to your data in either the desktop version or the Online Edition, you will want to synchronize your data so that it is identical at both locations. Synchronizing also allows you to pull in changes made by other users, and likewise makes your changes available to others.

To synchronize, select File->Synchronize MySQL from the main menu of the desktop version of Worship Assistant. Make sure the Hostname, Username, Password, and Database name are correct (see Getting Started). Click the Test Connection button to ensure you can make a connection to the online MySQL database.

When you are ready to synchronize, click the Synchronize button. This process may take a few seconds up to a few minutes, depending on the amount of data that has changed and the speed of your network or Internet connection.

Note: there is an additional field on this dialog called Station ID. It is important that each Worship Assistant desktop client that synchronizes with the online data have a unique ID. Please see the topic Adding Additional Clients for more information.
